Haiku
The sleeplessness of a friend of mine gave rise to a number of Haiku poems that he shared with me. I'm not often exposed to haiku, and was surprised by how much I liked them. Here are three of them.
Winds blow strong branches
Creaking in the silence, dripping
"Safe here", says the tree
Thunder bounces near
The cars wail their panicked cries
The tea warms my heart
Down in the ancient
The deepcrow calls to its mate
Long since it went away
P.S. More information on deepcrows: here
